World-leader viagogo Group to double workforce in Limerick – Neville
26th January 2015 - Aoife Carragher
“The workforce at viagogo Group in the Kilmurry Business Park, Castletroy, is to double following an announcement today by Richard Bruton, Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation. This is good news for everyone in Limerick and the surrounding area, particularly our cohort of skilled graduates”, says Dan Neville, Fine Gael Party Chairperson and TD for Limerick.
“The viagogo Group, which operates the world’s largest ticket marketplace, is to increase its workforce in Ireland over the next three years, taking it from 100 to over 200 employees. A temporary location was established in Limerick last year and now, with the opening of a new purpose-built Operations Centre, there is room for further growth.
“There is an abundance of local talent in Limerick and I expect that viagogo will have no problem at all in filling these positions.
“Creating jobs has been, and remains, the central goal of this Government. However, while job creation anywhere in Ireland is positive, it is especially important that we see growth in regional areas. Today’s announcement is a great boost for the Mid West and an example of what is possible through our regional jobs strategy which is to be launched in the coming weeks.
“The viagogo Group joins companies such as Northern Trust, Gilt, Three and Cook in the National Technological Park, Plassey, who have chosen Limerick as a destination to do business. This news further enhances Limerick’s reputation as an excellent base for technology based businesses.
