U2 fans are stuck in a moment they can’t get out of as tickets are being touted for hundreds of euro – Rock
5th November 2018 - Noel Rock TD
A Fine Gael TD has said the Government needs to commit to a date to introducing his anti-touting legislation as U2 tickets sell at vertigo inducing prices; hundreds of euro above their face value.
Deputy Noel Rock said: “The exploitation of fans needs to stop now. Sometimes legislation can’t make it on its own which is why I am lobbying Government to enact my touting proposals as soon as possible. This can’t wait for another day.
“Tickets for the gig on Saturday are currently selling for €942 on Seatwave, the touting website facilitated by Ticketmaster.
“We know the desire for change is there. Real fans are sick of paying through the nose for tickets to concerts in Ireland. It will be the sweetest thing when this legislation finally passes, but action needs to be taken now,” the Dublin North-West TD said.
