Fine Gael TD, Anthony Lawlor, was delighted to learn this morning (Thursday) that Minister for Environment, Phil Hogan TD, has confirmed to Kildare County Council that funding is now in place to allow the Council to accept the €29 million tender for the upgrade of Leixlip’s wastewater treatment plant..
“This contract is the final stage of the Lower Liffey Regional Sewerage Scheme which will benefit residents and businesses in Kilcock, Maynooth, Celbridge, Leixlip and Straffan. The new plant will almost double the plant’s capacity and will deal with predicted future demands on the water service.
“I am delighted that this project has reached it’s final stage and I will certainly be pushing Kildare County Council to expedite the contract arrangements with the contractor.”
