State Visit to Ireland by HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco
4th April 2011 - Enda Kenny
His Serene Highness, Prince Albert II of Monaco, begins a State Visit to Ireland today. The Prince is accompanied by his fianceé, Ms. Charlene Wittstock and he is leading a high level economic delegation. The Prince’s three-day visit marks the 50th anniversary of the official visit to Ireland by the Prince’s late parents, Prince Ranier III and Princess Grace, in 1961.
Taoiseach Enda Kenny today will host a Government lunch in Iveagh House in honour of Prince Albert and Ms. Wittstock. The lunch will be preceded by a meeting between the Taoiseach and Prince Albert in Government Buildings.
The visit is intended to strengthen relations between Ireland and Monaco and help to explore the undoubted opportunities for increasing trade, tourism and investment links between the two countries.
