Sligo mammography procurement meeting underway – McLoughlin
14th January 2016 - Tony McLoughlin TD
Fine Gael TD for Sligo/Leitrim, Tony McLoughlin, has said that today’s meeting with a company hoping to provide a follow up mammography service at Sligo University Hospital, is another welcome step in the HSE’s procurement process.
“The HSE procurement process for the provision of a mammography service at Sligo University Hospital, has now moved to phase two.
“This involves inspecting the bid made by the company in order to ensure that it meets with the required standards set out by the National Cancer Control Programme.”
Dr Mary Hynes of the National Cancer Control Programme, and other HSE officials are meeting the company later today to discuss the bid.
“I will be watching developments of today’s meeting very closely and I will continue to put pressure on Minister Varadkar and his officials in order to ensure a speedy rollout of this service, should the bid of this particular company be successful.”
