Sinn Féin and AAA/PBP have deceived voters by refusing to make any attempt to form a government – Fitzpatrick
4th April 2016 - Peter Fitzpatrick TD
Fine Gael TD for Louth, Peter Fitzpatrick, has said that Sinn Féin and AAA/PBP’s refusal to enter into any kind of government talks has exposed them as complete hypocrites who have deceived voters.
“By refusing to take part in any government formation talks, Sinn Féin and AAA/PBP have exposed themselves as complete hypocrites. They are abdicating their own personal responsibility while calling for action from others.
“Sinn Féin and AAA/PBP representatives went to the electorate seeking their vote to implement change, yet when it comes to forming a government they do not want to engage with anybody. They are more interested in making noise as opposed to offering constructive solutions and effecting real change.
“The General Election elected 158 TDs to the 32nd Dáil and all of those TDs, including myself, have a responsibility to work towards establishing a stable Government for the good of the people. Sinn Féin and AAA/PBP are deceiving the people who voted for them. They promise one thing and when an opportunity arises for them to act, they fail time and time again.
“It is extremely disappointing to see that Sinn Féin and AAA/PBP have prioritised their own self-interest ahead of the good of the country. I am sure the people who elected them expected more.”
