SALLINS BYPASS & N7 ROAD WIDENING SCHEME GET THE GREEN LIGHT
29th September 2015 - Senator Anthony Lawlor
Tuesday 29th September 2015
Anthony Lawlor TD welcomed the announcement today, Tuesday, 29th September, that the Sallins bypass and N7 road widening scheme are to go ahead.
Anthony commented “The €110million investment in this area will result in significantly improved traffic flow and will make a huge difference to residents and commuters alike.”
Following talks with David O’Grady of the Kildare National Roads Design Office, the land procurement and advance works will begin in early 2016, followed by pre-tender selection of contractors.
Anthony said “When contractors have been selected, the build period should be approximately 26 months. The Sallins bypass may take only 18 months according to the National Road Designs Office and I will be pressing for this timeframe to be adhered to.”
Anthony is still in discussions with the Department of Transport to secure funding for improvements to the main street of Sallins. The money will be used to upgrade footpaths, increase street lighting and general landscaping.
