“Participation in activities such as drama, dance, music and helps to enhance and contribute to developing a child’s confidence” – Bannon

22nd May 2013 - James Bannon TD

Deputy James Bannon TD (Fine Gael Longford/Westmeath) expressed his delight at the allocation of €5,000 in support of the Aisling Children’s Arts Festival which is due to take place later this year in St Michaels N.S. Longford

“This local festival is run by local volunteers and that is why such funding is necessary for such a worthwhile community project” he said. Not alone does this funding support the Children’s Arts Festival but it also helps to contribute to nurturing community pride in the locality and encourages active participation in activities such as drama, dance, music and helps to enhance and contribute to developing a child’s confidence and in turn an appreciation of the wide range of activities that the Aisling Children’s Arts Festival has to offer.

I would hope that more funding will be allocated in the future to assist these very worthwhile community groups he said.
