Flanagan hails new schools for Laois/Offaly

Laois Offaly T.D. Charlie Flanagan has welcomed the announcement by Minister Ruairi Quinn of the 5 year school building programme which will see a number of towns around the constituency receive new school buildings and extensions. The overall building plan will see €1.5bn of investment spent on school buildings between 2012 and 2016.

Selling State Assets

I am delighted to get the opportunity to state my support for the disposal of State assets at a time when the best value can be obtained from their sale. There is no question of a fire sale, despite what has been said, nor should there be.

To ask the Minister for Justice and Equality if Gardaí will remove those occupying Dame Street, Dublin, in view of the fact that the occupation is damaging local businesses and will not present Ireland favourably abroad on St. Patrick's day when the Central Bank of Ireland plaza is prominent on worldwide TV screens; and if he will make a statement on the matter?
