Fine Gael Waterford TD and member of the Oireachtas Environment Committee, Paudie Coffey, has today (Thursday) criticised Fianna Fáil for undermining the independence of the Commission for Energy Regulation (CER). Deputy Coffey was responding to a Bill published by Fianna Fáil’s Barry Cowen which calls for exemptions from water charges for those subject to boil water notices.

Fine Gael TD for Galway West/Mayo South, Sean Kyne, has welcomed the publication today (Thursday) of the Civil Registration Amendment Bill 2014. The Bill contains an array of changes to the Civil Registration Act of 2004 which were previously called for by Deputy Kyne, including the creation of a new register of Irish persons who die abroad and the provision of a new Irish-issued certificate of death.

The Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine, Simon Coveney TD, today announced the approval, with the agreement of his colleague, Brendan Howlin TD, Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform.
