Fine Gael statement on future funding of water services

It is Fine Gael's view that what was voted through in the Water Committee today falls well short of our obligations under the Water Framework Directive and puts Ireland on a collision course with the European Commission.

McHugh urges Community groups and schools in Donegal to apply for €5M CLÁR funding

“I would strongly encourage community groups and schools in Donegal to apply for funding through the CLÁR programme. “Funding will be made available for safety measures near schools and other community facilities, as well as funding for play areas. “The safety measures coupled with funding for playgrounds and multi-use games areas will assist CLÁR areas to provide safe amenities for their young people thereby increasing the attractiveness of an area from both a social and economic perspective”.

McHugh: 18 Donegal schools added to School Meals Programme

Donegal Minister Joe McHugh has announced that 18 schools in the county are to be added to the School Meals programme. “The Department of Social Protection is inviting these schools to join the school meals scheme from September this year,” said Minister McHugh. “I would urge principals and school managers to avail of the scheme and to apply by the deadline of May 12.
