I welcome the opportunity to speak on this Bill. As I said at the time of the budget, a budget that takes money out of the economy will never be popular. However, our commitment to the public at the time of the last election was that we would regain sovereignty by getting our finances back under control.

Dublin South can spearhead Action Plan for Jobs

Fine Gael TD for Dublin South Olivia Mitchell today joined the Taoiseach and Minister for Jobs, Richard Bruton, in launching the Action Plan for Jobs at the ICON Clinical Research Facility in South County Business Park.

To ask the Minister for the Environment, Community and Local Government if he would make it a requirement of local authorities to send reminders in respect of the non principal private residence charge as an increasing number of persons report the onerous penalties imposed for late payment at a time when they are hard pressed to pay the charge itself; and if he will make a statement on the matter?
