Fine Gael TD for Waterford and member of the Oireachtas Committee on Environment, Culture and the Gaeltacht, Paudie Coffey, has criticised the efforts by Fianna Fail to score political points in relation to the consultancy fees spent by Irish Water. Deputy Coffey was speaking following the Party’s Private Members Bill in Dáil Eireann.

Fine Gael Dun Laoghaire TD, Mary Mitchell O’Connor, has today (Wednesday) welcomed the fact that a plastic surgery app aimed at children as young as nine has been removed from iTunes and Google Play.

Funding of €32.5 million for almost 200 sustainable transport projects in the Dublin region from the National Transport Authority, including the further development of 47 cycle routes, has been announced by Minister for Transport, Tourism & Sport Leo Varadkar and Minster of State for Commuter Transport Alan Kelly.

The Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine, Simon Coveney TD, today announced the allocation of more than €12.5 billion in Common Agricultural Policy and exchequer funding to the agriculture sector in the period to 2020.

Fine Gael Clare TD, Joe Carey, has today (Saturday) said that Clare County Council’s estimate that the recent storms have caused more than €23 million in damage to the Clare coastline highlights the need for the Irish Government to access EU funding for the clean-up operation.

Fine Gael TD for Kildare North, Anthony Lawlor, has today (Monday) said that he is very pleased that his proposal to make it an offence to clock a car is being adopted by the Minister for Transport, Leo Varadkar TD, through an amendment to the Road Traffic (No. 2) Bill 2013. The amendment to the Bill, which is due to be tabled this week in the Dáil, will make it an offence to interfere with the odometer of a vehicle.
