Fine Gael Waterford Minister Paudie Coffey has welcomed today’s announcement by the Minister for Justice Frances Fitzgerald that 250 new Gardaí will be recruited this year.

In yesterday’s Budget, the Government has announced €19 million extra funding for the Pyrite Remediation Scheme. This is up from €10 million in 2015. Homes affected by pyrite will also be exempt from the local property tax.
