Almost €500,000 of capital funding approved for upgrade of marine areas in Waterford – Coffey
Fine Gael Waterford Deputy, Paudie Coffey, has today (Friday) welcomed news from the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine, Simon Coveney TD, that approval has been given for almost €500,000 for capital works projects in marine leisure and tourism infrastructure. This funding will cover three projects in Tramore, Boatstrand and Abbeyside and will be 75% funded by the Department, with the remainder coming from the Local Authority.

Fine Gael TD for Cork North West, Áine Collins has today said the Party will be intensifying its campaign in the next two weeks to encourage as many people as possible to vote Yes to abolish the Seanad in the Referendum on October 4 th . Fine Gael has been holding a series of regional meetings as part of its national campaign for a Yes vote.
Reasonable and practical solutions must be offered to those in mortgage arrears
Speaking on the mortgage arrears debate in the Dáil, Fine Gael Cork North West Deputy, Áine Collins, said that banks must be discouraged from going after the low hanging fruit where customers in mortgage arrears are concerned and instead must offer reasonable and practical solutions to those in serious difficulty. "There is no doubt that the level of indebtedness, especially among many who purchased their homes during the boom, needs to be tackled. And this Government has taken the steps to do that in the form of enacting the Personal Insolvency Bill, setting up the Insolvency Service of Ireland and providing free and independent advice to those in mortgage distress.
