Noone delighted to be appointed to Council of Europe

Fine Gael Dublin Senator, Catherine Noone, has said she is delighted to have been be asked by An Taoiseach, Enda Kenny TD, to take up a position on the Council of Europe, following the vacancy created by the election of Senator Deirdre Clune to the European Parliament.

Review of concert licensing process needed – Coghlan

Seanad Chief Whip and Fine Gael Senator for Kerry, Paul Coghlan, speaking during the Seanad Order of Business, today (Wednesday), called for a review of the concert licensing process following the cancellation of all five Garth Brooks concerts that were scheduled to take place in Croke Park.

South East hoteliers offer free accommodation to Garth Brooks objectors

Fine Gael Wexford Senator, Michael D’Arcy, has today (Wednesday) said that he has been in contact with a group of hoteliers in the South East, who are offering to provide hotel accommodation for 300 Croke Park residents free of charge for the five nights of the Garth Brooks concerts, if they withdraw their objections to the events.

Buttimer welcomes Minister’s decision on funding under SSNO scheme

Fine Gael Cork South Central TD and Chair of the Oireachtas Health Committee, Jerry Buttimer, has today (Friday) welcomed the decision by the Minister for the Environment, Alan Kelly, to restore funding to a number of health, disability and other organisations for a twelve month period, following a review of the SSNO scheme.
