7,750 missed appointments at local hospitals in 2012 restricts ability to see new patients – Feighan
Fine Gael TD for Roscommon/South Leitrim said that the high level of no show patients at local hospitals is restricting the ability to see new patients. Deputy Feighan was commenting after it emerged that more than 7,750 patients failed to turn up for appointments at Roscommon and Portiuncula Hospitals in 2012.
Collins welcomes extension of scheme to help farmers during fodder shortage
Fine Gael Cork North West Deputy, Áine Collins, has welcomed the extension of the Imported Fodder Transport Scheme (IFTS), which will now run until 10th May, saying it will go some way to alleviating the pressure on farmers who are struggling as a result of the fodder shortage.

Fine Gael Meath East TD, Helen McEntee, has said that the decision of the Minister for Agriculture, Simon Coveney TD, to extend the imported fodder transport scheme should provide further relief for Meath farmers struggling to cope with shortages. Deputy McEntee added that Minister Coveney is continuing to monitor the fodder situation on a daily basis.
100 jobs at FeedHenry a further boost to Waterford City –Coffey
Fine Gael Waterford Deputy Paudie Coffey has said news that FeedHenry had announced an expansion of 100 jobs was a further boost to Waterford City and a number of these jobs will also be for their facility in Dublin. Deputy Coffey said this announcement had followed on from other significant announcements in recent weeks, all of which underpins the quality and employability of the labour force in Waterford.
