The Taoiseach, Enda Kenny, TD will attend the British Irish Council (BIC) Summit being hosted by Jersey today.

Fine Gael Waterford Deputy, Paudie Coffey, has today (Friday) said that he is looking forward to members of Young Fine Gael visiting Waterford City next weekend. Some 500 delegates will attend the Young Fine Gael National Conference in the Tower Hotel in Waterford City on the weekend of 22nd November.

Speaking in advance of the inaugural Cork Foundation Founders’ Dinner, which is being held this evening (Friday) at the Rochestown Park Hotel in Cork, Fine Gael Cork North West Deputy, Áine Collins, who is responsible for the establishment of the Foundation, said the work of the organisation is instrumental in supporting small and medium sized local businesses and social enterprise initiatives.

Fine Gael Dublin Mid West Deputy, Derek Keating, today (Tuesday) said the Government’s commitment to delivering high speed broadband throughout the county will be benefit citizens and businesses greatly. The Government’s National Broadband Plan, which was published in August 2012, aims to accelerate commercial investment in the sector, with State provision being made in areas where it is commercially viable for the market to invest.

Speaking on the Local Government Bill 2013 in the Dáil, Fine Gael Meath East Deputy, Regina Doherty, said that while local government reform is long overdue, there are a number of issues that need to be addressed to ensure that Meath is operating on a fair and equal playing field to other jurisdictions.
