Minister Coffey opens National Lifeguard Training Centre in Tramore

Fine Gael Waterford Minister Paudie Coffey was delighted to open the new National Lifeguard Training Centre today (Monday) in Tramore, Co. Waterford. The Department of Environment, Community and Local Government sanctioned €200,000 for the development of this World Class Facility last year and Minister Coffey was happy to see this important facility opened in Tramore.

Minister Coffey welcomes resumption of Waterford-London Route

Fine Gael Waterford Minister Paudie Coffey has welcomed news from Waterford Airport that flights will recommence between London Luton and Waterford direct at the end of next month. Minister Coffey commended all of the staff at Waterford Regional Airport who have worked extremely hard over the last number of months to get this route back in operation.

Murphy welcomes EU funding for rural broadband in North Cork

Dara Murphy TD, Minister for European Affairs, has welcomed the announcement of €800 million in funding EU Structural Funds for Ireland, following the formal signing in Brussels of Ireland’s operational programmes under the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF). The funding will support the rollout of high-speed broadband in rural areas, including north Cork.

Victims of medical negligence must be compensated in good time – Burke

Fine Gael Cork North Central Senator, Colm Burke, outlined the importance of periodic payment orders (PPOs) in the context of medical negligence cases, for families who need financial support to care for their loved ones who have been victims of medical negligence. Senator Burke was speaking after he raised the issue in the Seanad on Wednesday.
