Santa expected to arrive on time, says Minister for Time

Byrne welcomes funding for local animal care and welfare organisations

Fine Gael Dublin South Central TD, Catherine Byrne has today (Friday) welcomed the announcement of funding for animal care and welfare organisations in Inchicore and Rialto. Minister for Agriculture, Simon Coveney TD, announced €1.8m in funding to 136 organisations, three of which are in Dublin South Central; the Irish Blue Cross in the Goldenbridge Industrial Estate; St. Francis Dispensary, on Tyrconnell Road; and Petwatch Ltd, in Rialto.

Cork Epilepsy Unit to open in early 2014 – Murphy

Fine Gael Cork North Central Deputy, Dara Murphy, has today (Friday) said the opening of the Epilepsy Monitoring Unit in Cork University Hospital (CUH) will help to speedily diagnose and treat those living with the condition in Cork and the surrounding region.

Doherty welcomes HIQA’s consideration of providing defibrillators in public places

Fine Gael Meath East TD, Regina Doherty, has today (Thursday) welcomed the announcement that the Health Information and Quality Authority (HIQA) is examining whether defibrillators should be provided in public places, to deal with out-of-hospital cardiac arrests. It comes as the Ashbourne Cardiac First Responders group is awarded €6,270 in funding through National Lottery grants allocated by the Department of Health.
