Extending access to Soliris a relief for patients – Buttimer

Cork South Central TD and Chairperson of the Oireachtas Committee on Health and Children, Jerry Buttimer, has said that the decision of the HSE to extend access to Eculizumab (Soliris) will come as a relief to people with diseases Paroxysmal Nocturnal Hemoglobinuria (PNH) and atypical Haemolytic Uraemic (aHUS). Deputy Buttimer has also said that exorbitant costs of new drugs and how much is paid by the State must be examined.

Minister accepts O’Donovan proposal to amend Roads Bill

Limerick Fine Gael TD Patrick O'Donovan has secured the agreement of the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport, Paschal Donohoe TD, to amend the Roads Bill 2014. Patrick O'Donovan sought an amendment that would allow the National Roads Authority to carry out pre-planning consultations with An Bord Pleanála before making applications for planning permission to construct new roads.

New primary school for Carrigtwohill – Stanton

“A new primary school for Carrigtwohill has been announced today (Thursday) by the Minister for Education and Skills, Jan O’Sullivan and while this is very much to be welcomed, there is still an urgent need to amalgamate the two primary schools already in the area”, says David Stanton, Fine Gael TD for Cork East.
