Cllr Maurice Dockrell
I am very proud to serve the community in Blackrock Ward, in which I have deep roots. My family has lived and represented this area since 1898 and I live here with my children.
Since being elected to the Council I have worked hard for our area. I have learned what needs to be done to improve not only our area but the working of local government. The next few years are vital in planning for the future. Challenges and opportunities include how to maximise renewable energy to benefit all our people and economy, to build a lasting infrastructure and to look after the vulnerable in our society.
Other priorities of mine include keeping local property taxes as low as possible and campaigning to change inheritance tax bands so that the next generation can continue to live in Blackrock and Dun Laoghaire.
