Senator Aisling Dolan
Aisling was appointed as a Senator on 27 June, 2020, as a Taoiseach’s Nominee and is Fine Gael Seanad spokesperson for Education and Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science
She is a member of the Joint Oireachtas Committee on Education and the Sub-Committee on Mental Health. Based in Ballinasloe, Aisling is a proud representative for the West.
As an elected Councillor with Galway County Council, she stood in the constituency of Roscommon-Galway as a 2020 General Election candidate for Fine Gael.
From Poolboy, Ballinasloe and a student of Scoil Mhuire, Aisling is an Arts graduate of NUI Galway, with a Postgraduate Diploma in Applied Languages for Business. With training in export marketing and Diploma in Project Management.
She grew up working on her father’s farm in Poolboy and Moore, South Roscommon and has a strong love of the countryside and rural life. Aisling worked in Dublin for Enterprise Ireland, supporting Irish businesses, and in Science Foundation Ireland, funding excellence in research at third level. Moving back to Galway, Aisling joined NUI Galway and worked in numerous roles in the research office, Horizon 2020 projects and as a project manager on innovation in healthcare, working with Irish start-ups and staff within the HSE.
