Butler delighted at much-needed suspension of discretionary medical card review

Fine Gael Meath West TD, Ray Butler, has today (Friday) welcomed the HSE’s decision to halt the review of discretionary medical cards. It comes after a meeting of the Cabinet Sub Committee on Health where the Government decided to address issues surrounding eligibility for the cards to take account of medical conditions, including new legislation if necessary.

Mitchell O’Connor supports UK expert’s call for health warning on sugary drinks

Fine Gael Dun Laoghaire TD and member of the Oireachtas Health Committee, Mary Mitchell O’Connor, has today (Thursday) backed a call for prominent health warnings to be displayed on sugary drinks. The proposal has been made by one of the UK’s leading experts on public health, Professor Simon Capewell of the University of Liverpool.
