Cllr. William Aird

He has served as a member of the General Council of County Councils, the Midlands Health Board, the HSE, and the Laois and Offaly Education and Training Board (LOETB).

Willie is passionate about Fine Gael and public representation. He firmly believes in the collective ability and strength to work together and deliver for his county. He works to make a positive impact for the people he represents. He is a powerful voice and provides strong leadership for the party and the people Fine Gael represents. He is totally committed to working to make a real difference for County Laois.

If elected, Willie will continue his work supporting job creation by advancing Laois as a business, industrial and tourism base for the Midlands, and creating an environment where local enterprise can prosper.

He will allocate additional funds to invigorate and sustain our rural communities, by improving infrastructure in our county including road and transport facilities to meet the needs of our growing population and providing strong advocacy for agriculture and farm families.

Ensuring the provision of adequate housing combined with the associated health and education facilities, achieving a comprehensive policy for combating antisocial behaviour in the community, and promoting sustainable practices to protect the environment are also key priorities for Willie.

He will work tirelessly to enhance essential services for people with special needs, and improve youth and recreation facilities throughout County Laois.
