Billy O'Shea

General Election Candidate for: Kerry

Billy O'Shea

Running as the Fine Gael candidate for Kerry in the upcoming General Election, Billy O’Shea wants to ensure  that the people of Kerry are represented at a national level.  He has a strong connection with local communities through his time playing Gaelic football with Laune Rangers, as Kerry captain in 1996, and being part of the 1997 All-Ireland winning team.

Since retiring, he has been a GAA pundit for Radio Kerry. As a publican and auctioneer, he is passionate about supporting small businesses.  With his  family pub reopening in 2010, he has lived the challenges facing small businesses.

Billy understands the challenges facing the people of North & South Kerry, as well the Iveragh & Dingle Peninsulas, and wants to be a TD to build a better future for everyone in Kerry.

Billy wants to offer Kerry a candidate who brings real-life experience, strong leadership skills, active community involvement, and a deep sense of pride in the Kingdom.

His priorities include:

  • Affordable Housing
  • Developing the Shannon Estuary
  • Enhancing business opportunities in Listowel since the development of the Bypass
  • Investing in Kerry University Hospital
  • Improving infrastructure, such as the Killarney Bypass
  • Developing the South Kerry Greenway, recognising the opportunity it will provide for growth in the region.
