Dáil Question on proposed legislation for school enrolment procedures

To ask the Minister for Education and Skills his plan regarding the upcoming legislation on enrolment policy; what the legislation will mean for some of the more common enrolment policies such as siblings already attending schools, the child's age; the catchment area; and if there will be a procedure for parents to enrol their children in more than one school in order to ensure their chances of receiving a place in the locality; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Parliamentary Question addressed to the Minister for Social Protection

To ask the Minister for Social Protection if graduate nurses who have not applied for the two year contract jobs offered by the Health Service Executive will continue to qualify for jobseeker's allowance in view of the requirement that qualification requires that they be genuinely seeking work; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

Topical Issue Debate on Public Sector Pensions Issues

I appreciate the opportunity to raise this issue. It concerns an individual case in which I believe an injustice is being done, whereby a person's public service pension is erroneously being reduced. While I would not normally raise an individual case, I do so for two reasons. First, others in similar circumstances may now or in the future be similarly treated and second, I believe the existing injustice may now be compounded by the legislation Members are due to pass tomorrow and which will be discussed later this evening.

TSSG a huge hub of potential for Waterford – Coffey

Fine Gael Waterford Deputy, Paudie Coffey, has said that the Telecommunications Software & Systems Group (TSSG) based in the Carriganore Campus of WIT is a huge hub of potential for Waterford City and the South East. Deputy Coffey said following a meeting at the facility last Friday that the TSSG offered the people of Waterford and the South East the prospect of continued investment and growth in the years to come.
