Cllr. Noel McCarthy
My name is Noel Mc Carthy, I live with my family in Fermoy, Co. Cork – where there hasn’t been a TD for 30 years and I’m seeking to be your representative for Cork East. I’ve been a councillor for 15 years and during that time I have strived to do my very best for everyone who seeks my help and for the entire constituency.
As a small business owner, I can identify with the many difficulties involved. Cork East is deeply immersed in agriculture and I understand the problems and frustration coming from nitrate and other stringent rules which farmers are being asked to adapt to.
The availability of housing is one of my top priorities and having served on the Council’s Housing and Economic Development Committee, I understand the huge challenge it represents and will continue to battle for more houses across the constituency. I have vast experience of working on the ground with many voluntary organisations such as Tidy Towns, Cork ETB, Avondhu Blackwater and as trustee of Fermoy FC – all of which have given me an insight into the needs of people living in this area. In standing for the General Election, my objective is to improve the services, facilities and quality of life for everyone in East Cork.
