Cllr Mark Duffy

Cllr Mark Duffy

Mark Duffy is your new Fine Gael General Election Candidate for Mayo. As the second youngest in a family of 13 children and a former Mayor of Ballina, Mark brings a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to his community.

Mark is dedicated to ensuring that everyone, from the young to the elderly, has access to quality housing, enhanced amenities, sporting facilities, and safer neighbourhoods. He recognises the challenges faced by young people who have had to leave Mayo in search of better opportunities.

Having proudly served as an independent councillor on two occasions, Mark believes that joining Fine Gael will enhance his ability to deliver more effectively for the people of Mayo. Over the past six years, he has successfully campaigned for the addition of early and late rail services to and from Dublin, expanded housing initiatives through the Croí Cónaithe housing grant, and empowered local action by co-founding initiatives such as the Ballina Community Clean Up.

A passionate supporter of GAA, soccer, surfing, and cycling, Mark’s diverse interests reflect his dynamic approach to life and politics. Before entering politics, he served as President of the ATU Mayo Students’ Union in Castlebar and worked on a project to create an All-Island League between the League of Ireland and the Northern Irish Football League.
