Cllr Marie-Thérèse Duffy
Marie-Thérèse is a native of Ballina and was co-opted to Mayo County Council in 2025 to replace her brother Mark, following his election to Seanad Éireann.
She is a Fine Gael Councillor in the Ballina Municipal District.
Marie-Thérèse is a Primary School Teacher with a keen interest in languages and health and wellbeing. She has a Masters in Education from Trinity College and has previously worked in Brussels in the European School of Brussels IV.
She was elected as a member of the Northern and Western Regional Assembly and is committed to accelerating regional development and investment in North Mayo.
Marie-Thérèse is a committed and hardworking representative for her constituents.
Her priorities are:
- Provision of housing across the district
- Upgraded transport infrastructure and road safety that improves the flow of traffic
- Improved access to health care
- Ensure the basics infrastructure, footpaths, roads, tree and hedge cutting is maintained and developed across the district
- Enhance Tourism Opportunities for North Mayo
