Cllr Anne-Marie Ford
Anne-Marie Ford grew up in Tenure in the parish of Monasterboice, where she still lives. She is married to Andrew and has four children. Anne-Marie is currently Principal of Scoil Naomh Cholmcille in Tullydonnell Togher where she has worked since 2010. She previously worked in Scoil Naomh Feichín, Termonfeckin as a class teacher. She feels very strongly about her own community and helping those in this community of Drogheda rural where she lives and works.
Anne-Marie has an interest in health and has studied in both King’s College London and Trinity College Dublin in the area of mental health.
She is particularly passionate about early intervention for children in relation to mental health and education, and in ensuring equality of access to education for all children. Anne-Marie has been campaigning on a national level in the last three years for better services and supports for children with additional needs and for their voices and the voices of their parents to be heard.
Anne-Marie feels strongly about the importance of caring for our elderly and ensuring that they too have a voice and timely access to services.
Communities are formed by families, by the young and the older members. Anne-Marie is looking forward to meeting the residents of Drogheda Rural and listening to the issues that are important to our local community. Anne-Marie wants to work hard for the families in her own local community and do the very best she can to help and support them.
Together we can make our community a better place to live, work and raise children.
