Cllr Peter Doyle
Peter Doyle – A new Councillor for Limerick City East elected June 2024
Peter is married to Patricia with two adult sons Kevin and Joe. Kevin and Joe are graduates of UL, and former pupils of Castletroy College.
Peter went to Monaleen National School, Crescent Comprehensive and studied in UL 1980 -84 where he completed a degree in applied mathematics.
Peter is a former President of Old Crescent RFC (2018/19) and former Treasurer of Aisling Annacotty AFC, and a member of Saint Vincent de Paul. Peter is also a Peace Commissioner.
Peter is a qualified Management Accountant and has worked in University of Limerick, Wang, Dan O’Connor Feeds and National Food Ingredients in Limerick City. In 2013 due to the closure of National Food Ingredients, Peter and three colleagues established a successful food ingredients business in the Annacotty Business Park called Key Ingredients.
He has been involved in local politics since 1980 and canvassed in all elections since 1980. Peter works closely with Minister Kieran O’Donnell TD in bringing solutions to local issues.
His priorities are:
- Better planning in Limerick
- Restoration of city centre as a shopping and living space
- Garda station and library for Castletroy, and
- Improving our recreational facilities
Peter’s interests include sports, politics and Irish history. He is a keen golfer.
