Cllr Luke Corkery

Cllr Luke Corkery

Luke Corkery is the Fine Gael Councillor for Swords, Santry, Rolestown and Kilsallaghan, having taken his seat in June 2024.

Elected at the age of 22, he is the youngest member of Fingal County Council, and the first Fine Gael Councillor to have been elected in Swords since 2009.

Luke is ambitious for Swords; the place where he grew up, went to school and still calls home. He represents one of the youngest and fastest-growing regions in Ireland.

Luke identifies as a commuter, and understands the need for better, more frequent, and more reliable public transport services on Dublin’s Northside. He is passionate about the delivery of the MetroLink project and high-quality bus services to Swords and the wider region.

Luke has long campaigned for more the delivery of more homes in Swords, particularly the development of affordable housing, in Fingal’s largest town. He also knows the importance of backing up housing development with the infrastructure needed to build strong and sustainable communities.

As well as making the case for more schools, more playing pitches, a public swimming pool, and more open space, Luke is also working with his colleagues to ensure the delivery of the planned Fingal College of Further Education, a campus designed to accommodate more than 1,000 full time students.

Luke will bring new energy to his hometown and to Fingal County Council.
