Cllr Kazi Ahmed
Kazi is humbled and honoured to have been elected as a Councillor in Glencullen-Sandyford area at the very first time of asking in 2019 Local Elections. He has been living in Sandyford for the last 12 years and in Dublin for more than 18 years, and is actively involved in many local organisations in the community he serves.
A lifelong learner with a background in International Business, IT, Project Management & International Marketing, having worked in different business areas. Kazi has a keen interest in both Irish local and European politics. A graduate of Griffith, Trinity and UCD and with a family background deeply rooted in politics, Kazi likes to bring change in Sandyford in business, education and local amenities.
His priorities are open space, playgrounds, integration of diverse communities, sustainable development and improved infrastructure. Being on the board of LCDC, ETB, Joint Policing Committee and Housing Strategic Committee, Kazi likes to bring changes within his ward for better cultural facilities, youth centres, playgrounds, schools, affordable houses for all and makes the ward a safer and better place to live and raise families. He is on the Board of Management of Dundrum & Stillorgan college of further education and IADT.
Kazi is ambitious and running a family led charity organisation, serving more than 100 orphans, and a school in Bangladesh. Kazi intends to work hard to support his area by increasing facilities for all age groups.
