Cllr Declan Flanagan
Declan is a hard working and effective Councillor representing local constituents on Dublin City Council for over a decade.
He attended St. David’s Boys National School, Chanel College and Dublin Institute of Technology.
Having been elected for Beaumont-Donaghmede, Declan also understands the importance of strong public service and is committed to improving facilities in the newly formed Artane-Whitehall ward .
Some of the issues he is passionate about include:
- Local Property tax (LPT): to ensure it is kept to a minimum and spent locally in our area on the improvement of libraries, parks, roads and childcare facilities
- Affordable housing: A new scheme to be rolled out to help first time buyers
- Sentencing laws: to change the current system to stop repeat offenders by ending concurrent sentences
- More CCTV to be rolled out in key public areas to deter anti-social behaviour and keep our neighbourhoods safe
- Greater supports are needed for small to medium sized businesses. They are the backbone of our communities
- Increase in funding for disability services.
- Climate change to be proactively tackled through concrete measures and actions
