Orange Hall fire is a serious act of criminality – McGinley
3rd October 2014 - Aoife Carragher
Fine Gael TD for Donegal, Dinny McGinley, has said that the malicious burning of the Orange Hall in Convoy and the attempt to set the Presbyterian Church in Convoy on fire, coming in the wake of the destruction by fire of the Orange Hall in Newtown Cunningham, is to be utterly and completely condemned. It militates against the excellent community relations throughout Donegal.
“These deliberate actions are completely alien to our peaceful way of life in the county. Both halls have been valuable social, cultural and recreational facilities in the community.
“This is a criminal act and it is not to be tolerated by the people of Donegal. I am appealing to anyone with information to bring it to the attention of the Gardaí and I extend my sympathies to the community affected.”
