New WRC Sligo office a great boost for workplaces in the North West Region – McLoughlin

20th June 2017 - Tony McLoughlin TD

The Workplace Relations Commission (WRC) has opened the first of its Regional Services Offices in Sligo today (Monday).

The office was opened by Government Chief Whip, Minister Joe McHugh, along with Fine Gael TD for Sligo/Leitrim, Tony Mcloughlin TD.

Speaking at the launch, Deputy McLoughlin said, “I was delighted to be on hand today with the Government Chief Whip, Joe McHugh, to officially open the new Regional Services Office of the WRC in Sligo.

“This office, and the services it provides, will be of huge benefit to workers and employers in Sligo and across the entire North West region.

“Sligo is the first of these Regional Offices, through which the WRC is extending its full range of services across the country.  These services include conciliation, adjudication, mediation, and inspection, all designed to promote the improvement of workplace relations, and the maintenance of good workplace relations.

“It is great to see Sligo receive the first of these Regional Services Offices. Sligo was also the first county to receive a mediator from the WRC, who has been based here since earlier in the month.

“In another boost to North West, the WRC is also introducing new hearing offices in Donegal and Mayo.”
