Netwatch merger great news for Carlow- Deering
24th April 2018 - Pat Deering TD
Fine Gael TD Pat Deering has welcomed the merger of Carlow-based Netwatch with UK & US monitoring companies to form new global security powerhouse following investment from The Riverside Company.
The newly formed company sees Netwatch join forces with National Monitoring Centre “NMC” (California), CalAtlantic (Texas) and Onwatch Multifire (Sussex, United Kingdom) to become Netwatch Group, a new global leader in proactive security monitoring services.
Deputy Deering said: “This announcement is a key milestone in the company’s journey and it will accelerate its growth and further strengthen the company’s base in Carlow.
“This is excellent news for our town and the wider region. The company has developed innovative, proprietary technologies which have revolutionised the security market.
“Netwatch has now been transformed into a global Group operating on four continents and is now yet another example of how Irish technology companies can win on the global stage.”
As a new leader in proactive monitoring services the firm will specialise in providing risk management, business continuity and security services to clients across the world.
The new company will immediately protect over hundreds of thousands of customers across the US, Europe, Middle East and Africa with a network of six global communications hubs connected by the CRATOS, a technology platform developed by the Netwatch R&D team in Carlow.
Deputy Deering said: “It is great to join the Taoiseach in welcoming this excellent merger.
“This is yet another vote of confidence in Carlow as a hub for major international business.
“Carlow is now to the forefront of digital security technology and this will provide a real boost for the area.
“With Fine Gael in Government, unemployment has hit its lowest level in a decade. The Government is working hard to continue to get Ireland working and attracting further investment from innovative industry leaders like the Netwatch Group is key to delivering more and better, sustainable jobs for the years ahead,” Deputy Deering concluded.
