Minister James Reilly Welcomes Decrease In Waiting Times At Beaumont Hospital

Minister James Reilly, has welcomed figures released by the Department of Health which show dramatic decreases in the waiting times in Beaumont Hospital for inpatient and daycase patients.
“These figures reveal very encouraging progress on waiting times in our hospitals between February 2011 just before this Government came into office and February 2013. People waiting over three months decreased from 2,512 in February 2011 to 2,018 in February 2013. Those waiting over six months decreased from 901 to 783.
“Those waiting over nine months halved from 422 to 210 while those waiting more than 12 months decreased from 213 to 33.
“I am delighted to see these figures which will have a massive impact for people using Beaumont Hospital. The figures also provide real, concrete proof that the plans to reform and improve our health system are working.
