Minister Fitzgerald responds to incident outside Dublin nightclub
28th January 2014 - Susan Moss
The Minister said: “The incident raised public health and safety issues regarding overcrowding outside venues that should be addressed urgently by venue owners in collaboration with the gardai, fire services and local authorities.”
“The last thing a young person going out for a night expects is to be traumatised or injured or to have the kind of experience that apparently happened last night,” the Minister said.
“There are public safety implications that we need to examine in respect of this incident. I also have concerns in respect of venues which attract large gatherings as a result of alcohol promotions.”
