Michael Noonan TD pays tribute to Cllr Richard Butler
2nd December 2013 - Michael Noonan TD
Fine Gael TD for Limerick and Minister for Finance, Michael Noonan, has expressed his sadness at the death of Fine Gael Councillor and former Cathaoirleach of Limerick County Council, Richard Butler, who has passed away.
“It was with great sadness that I learnt of the death of Richie Butler earlier this afternoon. Even thought he had been ill for some time, those of us close to him had hoped and prayed that he would make a recovery. Unfortunately this was not to be.
“Richie was a close friend to me and managed my election campaign on many occasions, including the 2011 election. He will be sorely missed by all who were close to him and by his constituents who he served so well.
“I wish to offer my deepest sympathy to his wife Bernadette, his son Daniel and his daughter Susan; to his brothers and sisters and to his wide circle of friends.”
