McHugh encourages farmers to attend Donegal CAP meeting

Minister of State at the Department of Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht and Fine Gael TD for Donegal, Joe McHugh, has encouraged Donegal farmers to attend a meeting on the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) taking place in Letterkenny on Monday, 9th March 2015. The meeting forms part of a series of 14 regional information meetings in relation to CAP implementation.
“I encourage as many farmers as possible to attend this meeting on CAP reform on Monday, 9th of March at 8pm in the Raddison Blu Hotel in Letterkenny.
“The aim of meeting is to provide information to farmers on future requirements in relation to the Basic Payment Scheme under Pillar I and the GLAS scheme under Pillar II of the CAP.
“The Letterkenny meeting forms part of a series of 14 regional information meetings on the implementation of the new CAP.
“Minister Coveney has said that farmers who attend the meetings will receive information and advice on the new Basic Payment Scheme, National Reserve, Greening and the new GLAS agri-environmental scheme. Department of Agriculture staff will also be on hand in the Raddison Blu during the afternoon of the 9th March, to give advice to farmers in relation to greening and on-line applications.”
