Maria Bailey
Maria is a mother of two young children who combines an active lifestyle around her family, work and home. Like many of her contemporaries, she bought her first home at the height of the property bubble and is fully aware of the pressures and logistics of rearing a young family, whilst also managing a large mortgage, childcare and being self-employed.
Maria’ s areas of interest include planning, economic development, housing and health. Having coped with migraine since she was 16, she has been active in creating an awareness of dealing with the condition, which affects over a half a million people in Ireland. She hosted a local information evening about the condition and the many ways in which to manage it, which was attended by over 400 people.
Maria believes that a healthy lifestyle is the key to managing her condition. For this reason she is an avid runner and keeps a steady routine with her meals and sleep. She was a member of Dun Laoghaire Rathdown County Council.
