Long Awaited Ballymore Eustace Sewerage Scheme Gets Go Ahead

15th October 2012 - Martin Heydon TD

Fine Gael Kildare South TD, Martin Heydon, has warmly welcomed the confirmation of funding for the long awaited Ballymore Eustace Sewage Scheme.

“I am delighted that following extensive lobbying, the Department of the Environment, has today announced the approval of funding to allow Kildare County Council to award two contracts for the Ballymore Eustace Sewerage Scheme. The contracts are being funded under the Department’s Water Services Investment Programme 2010 – 2013.

“The new scheme when completed will address many of the capacity issues that exist at the current treatment plant and will ensure compliance with the water quality management plan for the River Liffey. It’s development will allow the growth and development of the Ballymore area which has not been possible up to now without this capital expenditure”

“The approval of funding announced today will allow Kildare County Coucnil to proceed to contract stage with the successful contractor and I will continue to work on this to ensure that Kildare County Council can get construction underway as quickly as possible.”
