Expansion of GAA coverage abroad is good for our games – O’Mahony

Fine Gael TD for Mayo and former All Ireland winning manager, John O’Mahony, has today (Tuesday) responded to the GAA’s announcement regarding its TV and radio broadcasting rights from 2014-2017, welcoming the expansion of our national game abroad, but expressing caution that the big matches should remain free to air here at home.

Planning applications for wind farms should be put on hold until the new guidelines are in place- Deering

Fine Gael Carlow TD, Pat Deering, has called for the freezing of all planning applications for wind farms, until the review by Minister of State for Housing Jan O’Sullivan TD, of the 2006 Wind Energy Development Guidelines is complete. Deputy Deering was contributing to a Dáil debate on the matter this week.

Barry welcomes publication of new legislation to ensure fair playing field for consumers and suppliers

Byrne welcomes initiative on alcohol consumption during pregnancy

Fine Gael TD for Dublin South Central, Catherine Byrne has today (Monday) welcome a new Alcohol Action Ireland (AAI) initiative aimed at reducing the consumption of alcohol during pregnancy.
