O’Donovan calls on Health Committee to examine provision of home care

Fine Gael TD for Limerick, Patrick O'Donovan, has today (Tuesday) suggested that the Oireachtas Health Committee be asked to examine ways in which the delivery of home care provision can be improved and regulated.

Planning applications for wind farms should be put on hold until the new guidelines are in place- Deering

Fine Gael Carlow TD, Pat Deering, has called for the freezing of all planning applications for wind farms, until the review by Minister of State for Housing Jan O’Sullivan TD, of the 2006 Wind Energy Development Guidelines is complete. Deputy Deering was contributing to a Dáil debate on the matter this week.

Barry welcomes publication of new legislation to ensure fair playing field for consumers and suppliers

Fine Gael Cork East TD, Tom Barry, has welcomed the publication of the Competition and Consumer Protection Bill 2014, which will offer greater protections to both consumers and suppliers. The long awaited piece of legislation has been published today (Monday) by the Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation, Richard Bruton TD.

Byrne welcomes initiative on alcohol consumption during pregnancy

Fine Gael TD for Dublin South Central, Catherine Byrne has today (Monday) welcome a new Alcohol Action Ireland (AAI) initiative aimed at reducing the consumption of alcohol during pregnancy. The initiative, in cooperation with the National Maternity Hospital, the Rotunda Hospital and the Coombe Women & Infants University Hospital, features a new information leaflet for pregnant women.
