Paying for public transport in Dublin needs to be modernised - Hayes

Speaking in the European Parliament in Strasbourg today (Tuesday) Fine Gael Dublin MEP, Brian Hayes said that a contactless payment system for public transport in Dublin should be introduced. Mr Hayes made the comments following the passing of a report in the European Parliament calling for a European style "LEAP" card to be introduced.

National Narcolepsy Support Coordination Needed – Stanton

“A structured support package and advocate is needed for people who developed narcolepsy as a result of receiving the swine flu vaccine in 2009 and 2010” says Cork East Fine Gael TD, David Stanton. National figures show that 74 young people and children developed the condition after they received the Pandemrix vaccine.

Roaming charges to be abolished in June 2017 - Hayes

Dublin MEP, Brian Hayes has today (Tuesday) welcomed confirmation that roaming charges across the EU will be abolished by June 2017. The decision comes following agreement reached yesterday between the Commission, the Council and the Parliament.

HSE should write to patients on waiting lists and advise they have right to procedures abroad – Hayes

Fine Gael MEP for Dublin, Brian Hayes, has today (Monday) called on the HSE to inform those on waiting lists about their right to have treatment in another EU Member State. As part of the Cross-Border Healthcare Directive patients have the right to receive medical treatment in another EU Member State and the right to have some or all of the costs re-paid.
