ECB still in denial on role in Irish crisis – Hayes

European Central Bank President, Mario Draghi, today (Thursday) answered questions in the European Parliament's ECON committee on the circumstances that led to the Irish bailout. Brian Hayes MEP, who questioned the ECB President, commented that ECB actions ultimately made the bailout situation worse for Ireland.

Minister Coffey calls on Bank of Ireland to reconsider €700 withdrawal limit

Fine Gael Waterford Minister Paudie Coffey has called on Bank of Ireland to reconsider its new customer policy of only allowing withdrawals of more than €700 with tellers. Minister Coffey said that this policy should be looked at again and a practical approach should be taken, in particular for rural & elderly customers where branches exist.
