Urgent Care Centre at St. Mary’s proof of Govt’s commitment to the northside - Murphy

Fine Gael Cork North Central Deputy, Dara Murphy, has welcomed the official opening of the Urgent Care Centre on the St Mary's site in Gurranabraher today (Friday) by the Minister for Health, Dr. James Reilly TD. Deputy Murphy said the location of the Centre at St. Mary’s is proof of the Government’s commitment to the hospital site as well the northside of Cork City.

Conway welcomes end to industrial dispute at the Cliffs of Moher

Coghlan calls for cooperation corridor for Gardaí and PSNI in border area

Fine Gael Kerry Senator and Seanad Chief Whip, Paul Coghlan, has today (Tuesday) called for a cooperation corridor to be established between the Gardaí and the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) to help combat crime along the border area. Senator Coghlan raised the issue during the Order of Business in the Seanad earlier, in light of the murder of Detective Garda Adrian Donohoe.

Doherty welcomes moves to introduce tagging for sex offenders

Fine Gael Meath East TD, Regina Doherty, has today (Friday) welcomed the fact that the Government is advancing plans to introduce electronic tagging for sex offenders. Deputy Doherty said that the news would come as particular relief to residents in Ratoath, who were concerned in recent years at the prospect of a serious sex offender moving into their village.

New Garda Station to be delivered for people of Blarney, Rathduff and Grenagh - Murphy

At a public meeting in Rathduff last night (Thursday), Fine Gael Cork North Central Deputy, Dara Murphy, confirmed that a Letter of Intent will be signed next week for construction of a new Garda station in Blarney to serve the people of Blarney, Rathduff and Grenagh. Deputy Murphy established the fact having spoken to the Minister of State at the Office of Public Works, Brian Hayes TD. Construction for the new station is expected to commence in March this year.

European Investment Bank support for Irish water will reap benefits for Cork - Daly

Fine Gael Cork South West Deputy, Jim Daly, has welcomed the announcement of a €200 million loan from the European Investment Bank (EIB) to support Ireland’s Water Services Investment Programme. Deputy Daly said that he is delighted that of the three projects in Cork that are to benefit from this funding, two are in Cork South West; in Clonakilty and Bandon.

Limerick firms benefit from €4 million in Enterprise Ireland funding in 2012 – O’Donovan

Limerick companies benefitted from more than €4 million in funding from Enterprise Ireland last year, according to Fine Gael Limerick TD, Patrick O’Donovan. Deputy O’Donovan raised the matter in a Parliamentary Question to the Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation, Richard Bruton TD.
