Kildare bus service set for Real Time Passenger Information
2nd September 2012 - Senator Anthony Lawlor
I was thrilled to learn today (Wednesday) from Minister for Transport Leo Varadkar that 8 different locations have been identified throughout Kildare North for the installation of Real Time Passenger Information display boards. The bus stops identified are:
Kill Village €“ EuroSpar
Naas €“ Opposite Post Office
Naas €“ Opp St. Corban’s Place
Naas €“ Post Office
Maynooth €“ 67A Terminus
Clane €“ Garda Station
Clane €“ Opposite Garda Station
Celbridge €“ Youngs
The installation of these display boards is dependent on a number of factors, such as access to ESB connections and civil costs, and are at differing stages of the process in different areas (from site identification in some locations, to tendering and commencement of civil works). However, I am hopeful that progress can be made and the bus service in these areas will be enhanced with access to Real Time Passenger Information. From my knowledge of the existing service in Dublin, the display of expectant bus times is an excellent facility and will be of huge benefit to passengers in the area.
